Proceeding contribution from Lord Jenkin of Roding (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Wednesday, 12 October 2011. It occurred during Debate on bill on Localism Bill.
Localism Bill
The noble Lord has accused the Government of trying to sneak through the framework document because it was published during the recess. I am quite sure that he will have had, as I have, a letter from my noble friend that says: "““We are keen to take every opportunity to consult on and improve the text of the draft framework. We are inviting the Communities and Local Government Select Committee to comment … and are seeking to secure time for both Houses to consider the draft framework in the autumn””." Did he have that letter?
