Proceeding contribution from Lord Dodds of Duncairn (Democratic Unionist Party) in the House of Commons on Monday, 24 October 2011. It occurred during Backbench debate on National Referendum on the European Union.
National Referendum on the European Union
I will address the arguments advanced by the Foreign Secretary shortly. The Democratic Unionist party is the only party in this House that is united in favour of a referendum for the people of the United Kingdom. We have been consistent on that point; we called for a vote on the Lisbon treaty, the Single European Act and Maastricht. We have also been consistent on the euro.
