Proceeding contribution from Baroness Sherlock (Labour) in the House of Lords on Monday, 24 October 2011. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on Welfare Reform Bill.
Welfare Reform Bill
I am sorry, but I would like the Minister's help in understanding which £2 billion the Public Accounts Committee was talking about in its report. It said, "““Approximately £628 million of the £2 billion set aside for Universal Credit is capital expenditure and a further £400 million is to cover the increased benefits … So less than half of the funds … will be available for staff costs””." Is that the £2 billion that he was just talking about?
