Proceeding contribution from Lord McKenzie of Luton (Labour) in the House of Lords on Monday, 24 October 2011. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on Welfare Reform Bill.
Welfare Reform Bill
My Lords, we have probably taken this as far as we can this afternoon. I would certainly like to read the record and reflect on it. We ended on a high note. The Minister made reference to a fit note, which is most welcome. There is a conundrum here which I do not think that we have bottomed out this afternoon and we propose to take it away and, I imagine, that we will wish to return to it on Report.
