Health and Social Care Bill

We will withdraw this amendment but I am bound to say that on the question of conflicts of interest, we were really rather disappointed that my noble friend the Minister maintains the very clear view that he expressed. Of course we accept that there is power in the Bill to deal with conflicts of interest, but there is no assurance that that will be done. I stress that there can be no public confidence that it will be done unless there is something on the face of the Bill, so I hope he will depart from that clear view and take these amendments away with him for consideration for the next stage.
