Proceeding contribution from Lord Kerr of Kinlochard (Crossbench) in the House of Lords on Monday, 12 December 2011. It occurred during Ministerial statement on European Council.
European Council
I am sorry. This may be unwelcome to the Tea Party on the Back-Benches opposite but the country wants to know the answer to these questions. Would requiring the invention of intergovernmental arrangements, as the French always wanted, not hand them victory, and be a loss to all our natural allies, such as the Dutch, the Danes and the Swedes, as well as a loss to efficiency, and thus an own goal? I have two questions on tactics.
