May I put the hon. Gentleman right on the future jobs fund? I would not want him to leave this Committee with the impression that we used political spite to get rid of the future jobs fund. Half the recipients were back on benefits seven months later, when the six-month placement ended. The cost was more than five times that of other employment initiatives. Hardly any of the jobs were in the private sector. It was poorly targeted, and some one in five jobs went to graduates. It was not working. That is why we scrapped it, and that is why we want to do things differently.
