Proceeding contribution from Angus Brendan MacNeil (Scottish National Party) in the House of Commons on Friday, 20 January 2012. It occurred during Debate on bill on Daylight Saving Bill.
Daylight Saving Bill
The hon. Gentleman mentions Portugal. Only yesterday, I discovered that according to Mr João Grancho, president of the national association of teachers in that country, the time change had"““generated irritability and inattention among the youngest and many fell asleep in class””." Of course they fell asleep: they had been woken in the middle of the night to go to school. That is exactly what would happen here if we were so foolish as to forget the lessons of 30 or 40 years ago.
