Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Bill
I support the noble and learned Lord. I was surprised to hear the Minister say that it is very important that the victim should consent. Amendment 177DAA states that, "““the court may remand the case in order that the victim shall be offered the opportunity to participate””." It does not say in any sense that this will be imposed on the defendant.
