Agricultural Policy

No doubt that matter will be debated, but the Minister makes the important point that there will be a facility to approach the adjudicator anonymously. I served on the Public Bill Committee that considered the Public Bodies Act 2011, and I was as disappointed by the outcome as other hon. Members, because the Act gives Ministers the power to abolish the Agricultural Wages Board through secondary legislation. I understand that a consultation is going on, but I was not encouraged by Ministers when we discussed that Bill because they refused all the reasonable arguments that Opposition Members made. Pertinent points were made about new entrants and training. I do not want an industry in which the workers are paid minimum wage. They should be rewarded properly for their skills, and I hope that that will be the case.
