Budget Resolutions and Economic Situation

It is no surprise that Labour Members want to drown out any reference to their record in government. I think I know why the record increase in the income tax personal allowance has not been welcomed by Labour Members today and was hardly mentioned by the two Opposition Front-Bench speakers, despite the fact that Labour used to call itself the party of working people. This debate has also revealed something of lasting significance about the Labour party—
