Stem Cell Research

My honourable friend the Minister of State (Caroline Flint) has made the following Written Ministerial Statement. The House of Commons Science and Technology Committee published its report on the government proposals for the regulation of hybrid and chimera embryos on 5 April 2007. The principal area covered by the report was Government proposals for the regulation of inter-specific embryos. We welcome the recommendations of the Health Select Committee and have today laid before Parliament the Government's response to the report (Cm 7139). Copies of the response are available for honourable Members in the Vote Office.
