Debate on select committee report on Wednesday, 20 October 2010, in the House of Lords, led by Lord Roper. The answering member was Baroness Neville-Jones.
Subsidiarity Assessment: Seasonal Workers (EUC Report)
Lords debate on motion to take note of the report of the European Union Committee on the Proposal for a Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council on the conditions of entry and residence of third-country nationals for the purposes of seasonal employment (COM(2010)379, Council Document 12208/10) (HL 35 2010-11). Agreed to on question. (Debated with Lords motion to resolve that this House considers that the Proposal for a Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council on the conditions of entry and residence of third-country nationals for the purposes of seasonal employment (COM(2010)379, Council Document 12208/10) does not comply with the principle of subsidiarity, for the reasons set out in the First Report of the European Union Committee (HL 35 2010-11); and instructs the Clerk of the Parliaments to forward this reasoned opinion to the Presidents of the European institutions).
