Subsidiarity Assessment: Seasonal Workers (Reasoned Opinion)

Lords motion to resolve that this House considers that the Proposal for a Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council on the conditions of entry and residence of third-country nationals for the purposes of seasonal employment (COM(2010)379, Council Document 12208/10) does not comply with the principle of subsidiarity, for the reasons set out in the First Report of the European Union Committee (HL 35 2010-11); and instructs the Clerk of the Parliaments to forward this reasoned opinion to the Presidents of the European institutions. Agreed to on question (formal). (Debated with Lords debate on motion to take note of the report of the European Union Committee on the Proposal for a Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council on the conditions of entry and residence of third-country nationals for the purposes of seasonal employment (COM(2010)379, Council Document 12208/10) (HL 35 2010-11)).
