Subsidiarity Assessment: Food Distribution (Reasoned Opinion)

Lords motion to resolve that this House considers that the amended Commission proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council amending Council Regulations (EC) No. 1290/2005 and (EC) No. 1234/2007, as regards the distribution of food products to the most deprived persons in the Union (COM (2010) 486, Council Document 13435/10) does not comply with the principle of subsidiarity, for the reasons set out in the second report of the European Union Committee (HL 44 2010-11); and, in accordance with Article 6 of the protocol on the application of the principles of subsidiarity and proportionality, instructs the Clerk of the Parliaments to forward this reasoned opinion to the Presidents of the European institutions. Agreed to on question (formal).
