Subsidiarity Assessment: Food Distribution (EUC Report)
Lords debate on motion to take note of the report of the European Union Committee on the amended Commission Proposal for a Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council amending Council Regulation (EC) No. 1290/2005 and Council Regulation (EC) No. 1234/2007 as regards distribution of food products to the most deprived persons in the Union (COM(2011)634, Council Document 15054/11) (HL 217 2010-12). Agreed to on question. (Debated with Lords motion to resolve that that this House considers that the amended Commission Proposal for a Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council amending Council Regulation (EC) No.1290/2005 and Council Regulation (EC) No.1234/2007 as regards distribution of food products to the most deprived persons in the Union (COM(2011)634, Council Document 15054/11) does not comply with the principle of subsidiarity, for the reasons set out in the 23rd Report of the European Union Committee, Session 2010-12 (HL Paper 217); and, in accordance with Article 6 of the Protocol on the application of the principles of subsidiarity and proportionality, instructs the Clerk of the Parliaments to forward this reasoned opinion to the Presidents of the European institutions).
