Railways: Reform

My right honourable friend the Secretary of State for Transport (Justine Greening) has made the following Ministerial Statement. I am today publishing Reforming our Railways: Putting the Customer First, which sets out the Government's vision for the railways, alongside the policies that are needed to realise that vision. I am also announcing consultations on how we might move to a more transparent, modern and flexible approach to fares and ticketing, and on the opportunity to devolve power and responsibility away from Whitehall's traditional command and control structure to the appropriate local level. I am making an Oral Statement to the House today to explain our approach.
