World population growth
The human population continues to grow by nearly 100 million people every year, and the next attempt by the world's governments to address the issue will be made at the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD, Cairo, September 1994). For this, the world’s science academies have worked together to develop the best possible insights into the issue so as to inform the international debate.
This POSTnote reviews knowledge of the causes and effects of population growth in the context of ICPD.
