Assessing Capacity for Work
Over the next three years 1.5 million current incapacity benefits claimants will be reassessed for eligibility for Employment and Support Allowance. A key component is a face-to-face functional assessment of an individual’s capabilities, part of the Work Capability Assessment. This briefing discusses the role of the Assessment and its suitability as a gateway to benefit.
