Reserve Forces

Question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what plans he has to reintroduce the Territorial Decoration for Reserve Army officers.

Answer

On 1 October 2014 the Secretary of State for Defence announced that he would like to see a Reserve Long Service medal that allows the use of post-nominals for all ranks. He has asked officials to investigate options to deliver this under the current UK Honours and Awards system, with an instruction to report back to him by the end of the year. I can confirm that this work is under way.
