Typhoon Aircraft

Question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, when the first Typhoons will be combat ready following their upgrade.

Answer

Typhoon is combat ready. It has undertaken UK Quick Reaction Alert duties since 2007 and has proven its military worth during Operation Ellamy, fulfilling all the operational tasks asked of it. The Government is committed to a programme of continuous improvement and upgrade of Typhoon to maintain its battle-winning capabilities and export potential.
