Libya: Military Bases

Question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, pursuant to the Answers of 24 June 2015 and 1 July 2015 to Questions 5131 and 2850, what damage is covered by the figure of £472,283 given in a Freedom of Information response in May 2015; and if he will make a statement.

Answer

The figure provided in the Freedom of Information response in May 2015 was based on an estimate for the works required to rectify the damage caused by the Libyan trainees. I refer the hon. Member to the answers to Question numbers 5131 and 2850 which provide the actual costs, based on the repairs that have already been completed and a more accurate survey of the outstanding work required.
