Fiat Chrysler Automobiles
- Question
-
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what discussions he has had with Fiat Crysler on the review of that company's emissions by Market Surveillance Unit; and what the (a) timetable and (b) process is for that review.
- Answer
-
The Secretary of State has written to the Managing Director of Fiat Chrysler UK seeking assurances that the vehicles in the UK market do not contain prohibited defeat devices and that this matter will be resolved appropriately and quickly.
The Market Surveillance Unit has started testing a UK-registered Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicle. This will involve a series of emissions tests to check for prohibited defeat devices. The final timetable for this work will depend on the results that are found and whether further vehicle testing is required.
