Written question asked by Chris Ruane (Labour) on Monday, 13 November 2017, in the House of Commons. It was due for an answer on Wednesday, 15 November 2017. It was answered by Andrew Jones (Conservative) on Friday, 17 November 2017 on behalf of the Treasury.

Tobacco: North Wales

Question

To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, how many enforcement actions for the sale of illegal tobacco products have taken place in North Wales in which locations in each of the last 10 years.

Answer

HM Revenue & Customs does not record centrally detailed information regarding enforcement actions for the sale of illegal tobacco products. HM Revenue & Customs management information systems within the Fraud Investigation Service do not capture the data sought in a way which is readily available. Collation of any of this information would incur a disproportionate cost.
