Health Services: Shropshire

Question: To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, if he will award increased funding to the NHS in Shropshire in the forthcoming Budget and in particular to the Shropshire and Telford Hospitals NHS Trust.

Answer: The Autumn Budget 2017 takes steps to put the NHS on a strong and sustainable footing - both now and in the future – with £6.3 billion of additional funding in England. The government will invest £3.5 billion in capital by 2022-23, to ensure patients receive high quality, integrated care and improve efficiency and productivity. The government will also provide an additional £2.8 billion of resource funding to improve NHS performance and ensure that more patients receive the care they need more quickly.
