To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, whether he plans to investigate the use of the leptospirosis vaccination on breeding dogs; and if he will make a statement.

The UK’s Veterinary Medicines Directorate works closely with the EMA and other similar agencies throughout Europe to monitor the safety and efficacy of all veterinary medicines, including leptospirosis vaccines. These vaccines have been reviewed and the benefits of use of these vaccines in preventing serious infection continue to outweigh the risks.
