Tugboats: Safety

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what steps he is taking to ensure that all safety measures are adhered to when handling is done by tugs.

Tugs supporting port operations must comply with all relevant national and international safety standards supported by industry safety guidelines. Tugs will be regularly inspected as part of the UK’s ship inspection regimes, including those operated by ports complying with the Port Marine Safety Code (PMSC).
