Dogs: Theft

Question

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, how many dogs have been reported stolen in each of the last five years.

The information requested is not held centrally. The Home Office holds information on notifiable offences recorded by the police including theft offences, but it is not possible to tell from this information how many dogs or pets in general were stolen.
