Question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what assessment his Department has made of the implications for his policies of the conclusions of the Journal on the Use of Force and International Law article entitled UK Nuclear deterrence policy: an unlawful threat of force published online on 22 September 2019; and if he will make a statement.

Answer

I can reassure the hon. Member that the United Kingdom's nuclear deterrent is fully compliant and compatible with our international legal obligations.
