Type 32 Frigates: Procurement
- Question
-
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, pursuant to the Answer of 27 February 2023 to Question 150412 on Type 32 Frigates: Procurement, how much concept funding has been allocated to Type 32 as a programme.
- Answer
-
The Shipbuilding pipeline holds funding at a portfolio level for projects announced in the National Shipbuilding Strategy. As projects mature funding allocations are made from the pipeline budget against these projects. The Type 32 programme has not yet reached the level of maturity for full budget allocation and concept funding has been spent thus far, estimated at approximately £4 million to date. This is consistent with a programme of this size and complexity at this stage in its development.
