Question

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, with reference to the first bullet point on the executive summary on page 8 of People at the Heart of Care: adult social care reform white paper published December 2021, whether at least £500 million investment in the workforce will be delivered within the three year timeframe referred to on page 7 of that document; and if he will make a statement.

Answer

The Department will publish a plan for how it will reform the Adult Social Care system shortly. The publication will confirm the Government’s commitment to the 10-year vision set out in the People at the Heart of Care white paper. It will provide specific detail on how we will implement proposals on workforce in the white paper, including the funding, activity and milestones.
