Railways: Tooting

Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what assessment he has made of the adequacy of train services in the Tooting constituency.

Answer: My Department and train operating companies monitor demand closely to deliver a timetable which matches passenger needs and provides the right level and consistency of service. The May 2023 timetable changes included an increase from four to five carriages to the hourly service between East Croydon and Watford Junction, which serves Balham station and others in the immediate area. Service provision remains under regular and thorough review.
