Private Rented Housing: Guarantees

Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, what recent assessment he has made of the prevalence of guarantor schemes for private rented properties that include clauses holding guarantors liable in the event of the death of a tenant.

Answer: The Department does not hold information relating to specific clauses within guarantor agreements. I refer the Hon. Member to the Renters (Reform) Bill that is awaiting second reading in the Commons.
