To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, what recent discussions he has had with his US counterpart the offshoring of people seeking asylum to Ascension Island.

The Secretary of State speaks to his US counterpart regularly on the many shared interests between the UK and the USA. There have been no recent discussions with his US counterpart on the recent press speculation surrounding offshoring of people seeking asylum to Ascension Island.
