Railways: Cullompton and Wellington

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, with reference to the policy paper entitled Network North, published on 4 October 2023, what recent estimate he has made of the (a) cost of and (b) completion date for the proposed reopening of the Wellington-Cullompton line.
- Answer

Contractors have been engaged and work to produce a Full Business Case for new stations at Wellington and Cullompton is expected to be completed in 2024. The current anticipated cost of the project to deliver both stations is estimated to be £34m. These estimates remain subject to change as the project develops. More detail on cost and completion date will be included as part of the Full Business Case.
