Structures Fund

Question

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what the total budget is of the Structures Fund; how much and what percentage of that funding has been allocated to local highway authorities; and which schemes have received funding.

Answer

The Government last year announced a £1 billion package of investment for key local highway enhancement projects and the new Structures Fund for repairing run-down bridges, decaying flyovers and worn-out tunnels.

Local highway authorities have until 3 August 2026 to put forward schemes for investment from the fund and the government intends to announce funding awards this Autumn.
