- Question
-
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, pursuant to the answer of 11 June 2026 to question 7775 on Defence Nuclear Enterprise, what the a) whole life cost, b) 2025/26 cost and c) 2026/27 budget is for the Future Materials Campus.
- Answer
-
As the Future Materials Campus (FMC) programme remains in an early phase of its development, it is too early to provide an accurate whole life cost estimate. Work is ongoing to optimise the approach to the FMC and cost estimates will continue to mature as the programme progresses.
The cost of the programme in 2025-26 was £459.8 million. The 2026-27 budget is subject to cross-government approvals in the usual way.
