Immigration: EU Nationals

Question: To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, whether she plans to reinstate and expand funding for organisations to provide legal support to vulnerable individuals seeking to prove EUSS status.

Answer

The volume of EUSS applications has reduced over time and is forecast to continue to fall. The number of applications directly supported by Grant Funded Organisations (GFOs) decreased and, in line with this, in recent years the Home Office reduced both the amount of grant funding available and the overall number of GFOs.

This culminated in the decision to not continue with grant funding arrangements following the end of the 2025/2026 financial year.

UKVI support arrangements remain in place for vulnerable EUSS customers. Customers can continue to access support through the Resolution Centre. This remains a key part of the EUSS support model; providing a route for case enquiries and support where customers need help with their application or status.

The UKVI EUSS Vulnerability Team also continue to provide support when cases are notified to them.

There are no plans to re-instate and expand funding.
