To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, whether she plans to fund a transitional programme to integrated pest management methods for farmers.

The UK Pesticides National Action Plan (NAP) 2025 includes actions committed to by all four governments to encourage uptake of integrated pest management (IPM) across the UK.
In England, farmers can access support for IPM and wider nature-positive farming through Environmental Land Management offers, including the Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI).
Through SFI23 and SFI24 agreements Defra funding is supporting 26,200 hectares of flower rich grass margins, 268,900 hectares of companion cropping, 977,000 hectares without insecticides on arable or permanent crops, and IPM plans for 22,900 agreements. There are also SFI funded actions to support weed control through precision farming. The SFI26 offer will continue to support IPM through the funding of actions for flower rich grass margins to encourage natural pest predators, companion cropping, no use of insecticides, and precision farming.
