To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, pursuant to the Answer of 12 June 2026 to Question 5451 on National Highways: Expenditure, how many full-time equivalent staff were employed within National Highways' external affairs function on (a) 4 July 2024 and (b) the latest date for which figures are available.

On 4 July 2024 the National Highways external affairs team had 10.9 full-time equivalent (FTE) staff in post. The team was at that time carrying a number of vacancies out of its total headcount of 19 FTE.
The National Highways external affairs team currently consists of 17 FTE staff and is carrying no vacancies.
