Bank Notes: Design

Question

To ask the Minister for Women and Equalities, what is the policy of the Office for Equality and Opportunity on the Bank of England’s proposals to remove historic figures from bank notes.

Answer

The design of bank notes is a matter for the Bank of England, which is independent of the Government.
