Airports: Parking

Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, pursuant to the Answer of 29 June 2026 to Question 11465 on Airports: Fees and Charges, what criteria her Department uses when assessing whether airport parking fees and charges are implemented in a way that is fair and transparent.

Answer: The department does not have a role in regulating airport parking, the provision and pricing of which is a commercial matter for individual airports operators to decide and justify to their customers. Airports should provide customers with clear information on parking options available so that they can understand the circumstances in which different charges apply, when and how to pay, so that customers can make an informed decision. General consumer protection law applies. We continue to make this clear in our engagement with airport operators.
