Warships: Guided Weapons

Question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, with reference to the Defence Investment Plan, published on 30 June 2026, page 26, how many Type 91 uncrewed missile platforms does he intend to build for the Royal Navy.

Answer

The Defence Investment Plan announced the development of the Type 91 uncrewed missile platform as part of the Royal Navy's future maritime integrated air and missile defence and strike capability. The number of platforms to be procured has not yet been determined. Detailed requirements, including fleet size, will be considered as the programme progresses through its concept and assessment phases.
