Sky Sabre

Question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, with reference to the Defence Investment Plan, published on 30 June 2026, page 28, what estimate he has made of the number of the Sky Sabre air defence missile systems operated by the Army.

Answer

The Defence Investment Plan commits over £350 million to double the number of deployable Sky Sabre air defence missile systems operated by the Armed Forces. Key elements of this increase are already under contract and due to deliver by 2027.

Sky Sabre represents a step change in the UK's ground-based air defence capability. As the Army's most advanced air defence system, it provides protection against a range of modern airborne threats, including fast jets, precision-guided weapons and uncrewed aerial systems.

For operational security reasons, I will not disclose the number of Sky Sabre systems currently operated by the Army.
