NATO Countries: Military Attachés

Question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, if he will provide a list of NATO countries with a UK defence attaché and if they are permanently stationed in country.

Answer

The UK have Defence Attachés/Advisors (DAs) stationed permanently in the following NATO countries with some DAs having Non-Residential Attaché (NRA) responsibility for other NATO countries in their region.

· Albania

· Belgium (DA is also NRA to Luxembourg)

· Bulgaria

· Canada

· Croatia (DA is also NRA to Hungary)

· Czechia (DA is also NRA to Slovakia)

· Denmark

· Estonia

· Finland

· France

· Germany

· Greece

· Italy

· Latvia

· Lithuania

· Montenegro

· Netherlands

· North Macedonia

· Norway (DA is also NRA to Iceland)

· Poland

· Portugal

· Romania

· Spain

· Sweden

· Türkiye

· USA

The DA to Austria is also NRA to Slovenia.
