Question

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what discussions she has held with the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology on online animal cruelty content since the publication of the Animal Sentience Committee’s October 2024 report.

Answer

Defra officials have engaged with the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology on online animal welfare content since the publication of the Animal Sentience Committee’s October 2024 report, including discussions on the implementation of animal cruelty measures contained in the Online Safety Act 2023.
