To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, further to the answer of 3 August 2026, to Question HL2690, on State Retirement Pensions: Age, whether adopting a state retirement age of 68 between 2037-39 has been assumed by (a) OBR and (b) HM Treasury in its estimates for the public finances in and after that period.

The Office for Budget Responsibility is independent and is responsible for the assumptions underpinning its forecasts and long-term fiscal projections. Their July 2026 Fiscal Risks and Sustainability report sets out the OBR’s assumption.
