Department for Education: Remote Working

Question

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, what is the percentage office workplace attendance requirement in each of the department’s offices, broken down by location; and whether attendance statistics are collated for each of those individual offices.

Answer

For employees from EA to Grade 6, the department expects staff to spend at least 60% of their working time in the office or another work setting, while SCS employees are expected to spend between 60% and 100% of their working time in the office or another work setting. Limited exceptions may be agreed by line managers in exceptional circumstances. Office attendance expectations apply across all departmental office locations. The department does not centrally collate attendance statistics for individual offices.
