Knives: Walsall

Question

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, with reference to the announcement entitled Government expands crackdown on knife crime, published on 18 September 2026, what information her Department holds on the (a) locations in Walsall borough covered by approved Knife Crime Concentrations Fund plans and (b) funding allocated to each location for 2026–27.

Answer

We have allocated £2,776,367 to the West Midlands under the Knife Crime Concentrations Fund for 2026-27.

Using a data-led approach agreed by the West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner, the Violence Reduction Partnership, West Midlands Police and other key local partners, Walsall City Centre has been identified as the single location within the Walsall borough for delivery of Knife Crime Concentrations Fund activity.

Through the application of a regionally agreed method of local allocations, partners in West Midlands and Walsall have confirmed that £70,792.63 has been made available to Walsall City Centre from the regional Knife Crime Concentrations Fund to deliver police and partnership patrols at key times, targeted detached youth work, and other locally responsive interventions designed to address the local drivers of knife crime.

Funding allocations for the other 230 Knife Crime Concentrations Fund locations across England and Wales are also locally agreed between relevant partners.
