Military Bases: Security

Question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, pursuant to the Answer of 19 October 2026 to Question 36153, how much of the investment in surveillance and counter-drone capabilities has taken place in (i) Scottish, (ii) English and (iii) Welsh military bases.

Answer

Pursuant to the Answer of 19 October 2026 to Question 36153, the Defence Investment Plan includes £200 million of further investment in deployable counter-drone technology to enhance the protection of Armed Forces personnel and operations against the growing threat posed by hostile drones. These capabilities are designed to be deployable and support Defence-wide requirements across the Armed Forces, rather than being associated with a particular military base. A breakdown of this investment by military bases in Scotland, England and Wales is therefore not available.
